Busta Rhymes Arrested and charged with assault, police said Sunday.

Few details about the arrest and the attack that prompted it were immediately available, although police Officer Martin Speechley said they occurred about a week apart.

Representatives of the rapper, whose legal name is Trevor Smith, could not immediately be reached for comment. Messages left for Violator Management and for a lawyer who once represented him were not immediately returned.

Police have been wanting to interview Rhymes since the February shooting death of one of his bodyguards, Israel Ramirez.

Ramirez, 29, was killed outside a Brooklyn studio where Rhymes was recording a music video.

The rapper and another bodyguard were sued the following month by a fan who says the two men beat him after he asked for the Rhymes [SOURCE]

Lil Wayne Arrested On Drug-Possession Charges

Lil' Wayne was arrested Monday in Atlanta on charges of possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, according to a copy of his arrest report obtained by MTV. Police claim the rapper was in possession of several unlabeled bottles: one containing 60 pills of Alprazolama, a generic form of Xanax that is used to treat anxiety disorders and panic attacks; another containing 59 hydrocodone pills along with two small burnt joints of marijuana [SOURCE]

The interior designer for Jay-Z's 40/40 Club in Manhattan has slapped the rapper with a $600,000 lawsuit for violating an agreement with his design firm.
According to the New York Post, Ilan Waisbod, founder of New York based Studio Gaia, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court last week.
The suit alleges that Hov failed to honor an agreement with Studio Gaia, by using similar interiors applied in the Manhattan 40/40 club in his 40/40 Club in Atlantic City and planning to use them in other clubs set to be built in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Singapore.

D'Angelo is back in studio

The 32-year-old, singer D'Angelo, is now back in the States trying to get his career back on track. He was in New York recently meeting with Virgin Records urban music president Jermaine Durpi, music executive Gary Harris, who worked with D’Angelo on his 1994 breakthrough hit "Brown Sugar", and famous music industry manager Irving Azoff (Seal, Lenny Kravitz, Christina Aguilera).

In January 2005, he was arrested near his Richmond, VA hometown and charged with drunk driving and drug possession. Police searched his vehicle and found cocaine and marijuana. He was given a three-year suspended sentence after pleading no contest.
